For the Blachford Lake Lodge in Yellow Knife NT, Viridian provided design and procurement for an upgrade of the existing energy system. The new system comprises.
2 x 1830 W pv arrays on the roof
1 x 1840 W ground mount; and
1 x 65 kWh battery
This was a substantial add-on to the existing 1.1 kW pv array and 32 kWh battery.
With 1/3 of the equipment funded by the territory government and Arctic Energy Alliance, and installation provided by Dechinta Bush University in cooperation with Reid Wylde Engineering, they expect to recover their investment in less than 4 years through diesel fuel savings.
